MCFC was engaged to deliver the office fitout project for Cognizant, covering approximately 4,900 square meters of office space in Cebu City. As a Manila-based contractor executing a large-scale project outside our home base, the project presented significant logistical and operational challenges that required careful planning, speed, and coordination.
To successfully execute the project, MCFC implemented a hybrid logistics strategy designed to maximize efficiency and maintain the aggressive project timeline. Imported materials from China were shipped directly to Cebu to reduce handling time and transportation delays. At the same time, key manpower was flown in from Manila to ensure the project was handled by experienced teams capable of delivering the required speed and workmanship quality.
To further accelerate execution and support the local economy, selected materials such as glass and other construction components were sourced directly from Cebu-based suppliers. This approach not only improved lead times for critical items but also created opportunities for local Cebuano businesses and workers to participate in the project.
A major project milestone involved the client’s requirement to operationalize one full floor as Phase 1 for marketing and business activities. Despite the compressed schedule and complex coordination requirements, MCFC successfully delivered the phase within just 45 days, allowing the client to begin occupancy and marketing activities on schedule.
To meet the fast-track operational requirements, IT equipment sourced from Singapore was air-freighted directly to Cebu to avoid delays commonly associated with sea freight logistics. Through proactive coordination, flexible sourcing strategies, and decisive execution, MCFC consistently found ways to make critical project requirements achievable despite tight deadlines and geographic constraints.
The Cognizant project demonstrates MCFC’s ability to execute large-scale office fitouts outside Metro Manila while maintaining speed, adaptability, and operational efficiency through strategic planning and solution-driven execution.
