Delivering an Office Fitout During the COVID-19 Lockdown

MCFC was engaged to deliver the office fitout project for Canva, covering approximately 1,600 square meters, during one of the most challenging periods for the construction industry — the COVID-19 lockdown.

At the time, strict government restrictions limited the number of workers allowed on-site, with only 50% manpower capacity permitted during construction operations. Despite these limitations, MCFC remained committed to delivering the project safely, responsibly, and efficiently while maintaining momentum under highly restricted working conditions.

To ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, MCFC implemented strict site protocols throughout the duration of the project. All workers underwent regular testing prior to site deployment, health monitoring procedures were strictly enforced, and a dedicated doctor was assigned on-site to oversee health and safety concerns. Through disciplined implementation of these measures, the team was able to continue operations while prioritizing the wellbeing of both workers and stakeholders.

The project required not only construction expertise, but also adaptability, logistical planning, and resilience during an unprecedented global crisis. Even amidst operational restrictions, supply chain challenges, and workforce limitations, MCFC continuously found solutions to keep the project moving forward and support the client’s operational requirements.
